Achieving Success in Aerial Fitness: 5 Key Steps
Whether you’re a beginner or a veteran Belle, we understand the frustrations that come with learning or mastering some moves. Everyone progresses at their own pace and aerial fitness is like any other physical activity. You’ve first got to learn the foundations and then practise consistently. Here are five helpful tips to keep you motivated:
1. Define Clear Objectives
Begin by clearly defining your aerial objectives. Do you want to master a specific move? Enhance your strength and flexibility? Or maybe perform in front of an audience? Make sure your goals are specific and measurable. For example, learn one new transition for a solo performance you’re working on.
2. Break Down Your Goals
Divide your ultimate goal into smaller, manageable milestones. If your aim is to invert aerially, concentrate on increasing strength and stamina. Breaking your goals into smaller steps will make them more attainable and easier to track.
3. Set Realistic Timelines
Establish realistic timelines for achieving your goals. Consider your current skill level and the time you can commit to aerial training. We get it, life can get hectic sometimes and that’s okay! The timeline might change, but what’s important is being kind to yourself and sticking to your aerial journey.
4. Consistent Practice is Key
Consistency is vital in aerial fitness. Devote regular time to practice in studio and at home. It not only improves your physical abilities but also boosts your confidence. Create a practice schedule aligned with your goals and schedule, and stick to it faithfully.
5. Seek Guidance and Celebrate Progress
Our instructors are here to provide guidance and feedback to help you progress and minimize the risk of injury. And celebrate your achievements at each milestone, no matter how small, to maintain motivation and reinforce your commitment.
Now, while all of these are important, let us remind you that REST is also important! You’ve probably heard us say this before but please— listen to your body and rest when your body needs it. We’re here to help you achieve your aerial goals and support you throughout your aerial journey.
Until next time, Belles!
